Today I attended the Newport News Greek Festival, located at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Newport News, Virginia. This was my first time going in years and it would be a lie to say the food wasn’t some of the most delicious stuff I have ever put in my mouth. I’m quite inexperienced when it comes to the Greek cuisine, but this festival certainly showed me how much I love Greek food, especially the desserts. The Food Although there are sporadic performances (see website for times), Church tours, and plenty of vendors, the main attraction is the large variety of Greek and Mediterranean food. I tried the Grecian fries, Spanakopita, Eknek (dessert), and Loukoumades (dessert snack).
